The Ideal Location

Prominently located at the corner of Winslow Way and State Highway 305, the site serves as the “gateway” to downtown Bainbridge Island and beyond to the Olympic Peninsula. Many of the Island's 23,000 residents will notice the site when they go downtown to meet each other and run errands.

The Seattle-Bainbridge route is the Washington State Ferry's busiest, with an annual ridership of 6,387,000 people. Each year, more than 2,000,000 autos use this ferry route. Island Gateway will be visible to all who enter and leave Bainbridge via the ferry.

The site was designed for less density than the code allowed, producing open spaces that enhances the experience of those who visit and work here. Landscape designers created beautiful and environmentally sustainable spaces for the enjoyment of all.
